Why Join the Corporate Affiliates Program (CAP)?
Joining the Corporate Affiliates Program gives companies a unique opportunity to be a strategic partner with UCSB’s College of Engineering.
The goals of CAP are:
- To get companies the pipeline of students they need
- To get students the jobs they want
- To contribute to the technology ecosystem broadly, with special emphasis on the local Santa Barbara economy
- To raise awareness about the strengths of the College of Engineering
Our team has senior level staff dedicating to achieving these goals by providing a variety of services and opportunities to our member companies:
Recruitment
- Individualized annual strategic recruitment plan
- Advertisement (to the College of Engineering and additional departments as requested), planning and execution of recruiting events (e.g., panels, tabling, info sessions, workshops, interview office space)
- Advertisement of current company job opportunities (social media, listserv announcements)
- Company branding/marketing (e.g. company logo posted on physical job board, industry website, etc.)
- Candidate vetting for internships and full-time positions
- Organization of classroom presentations/guest lectures
- Access to more than 30 STEM student organizations
- Organization of student tours of company sites
Leadership
- Invitation to twice-yearly board meetings (includes deans’ overview, faculty and student organization presentations, breakout sessions, networking, etc.)
- Opportunity to suggest and collaborate on new initiatives (e.g. workplace experience programs, educational offerings, etc.)
- Connections/introductions to deans/faculty
- Notification of campus events reflecting individual company interests
Concierge
Connections and introductions to:
- Faculty of interest to discuss potential research partnerships
- Campus resources to discuss UCSB’s IP portfolio/licensing opportunities
- Capstone instructors
- Shared-facility managers
